Is buying a vacation property in Florida a good idea?

I live in Ohio and I'm wondering if a florida property that I would try to have rented out the majority of time would be a good investment.

1With property prices, taxes, and insurance as high as they are here in FL right now, it might not be as good an idea as it once was. You'll have a much harder time making money off of it as a rental, than you would have in years past (before our bad hurricane year).
